Wrist fractures often happen during a fall or accident impacting the wrist. Fractures are diagnosed by X-ray, MRI, or CT scans. Fractures need to be treated quickly once diagnosed. Some fractures can be treated conservatively in a brace or cast for several weeks if the bones are aligned properly, but some fractures need to be treated surgically.
